Work Hours: Monday through Friday – business hours, and as needed
Travel: Minimal

Availability: As issues impacting the fulfillment of business objectives develop, the ability to work overtime or weekends and respond to requests to be at the facility as needed to correct issues impeding customer production.
Summary: A highly visible leadership role that directs and coordinates activities connected to the production of company product(s) by directing and coordinating the activities of team members and supervisors engaged in production.

Your Contribution: Plans and directs production activities, establishing production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Directly oversees all Production staff.

• Bachelor degree (B.A.); or two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment
• Proficiency in performing all job duties within established safety guidelines is required
• Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems
• Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating challenges and improve product quality
• Revises production schedules and priorities created by equipment failure or operating difficulties
• Consults with maintenance personnel relative to the modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and product quality
• Compiles, stores and retrieves production data
• Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of labor and materials
• Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers
• Assist the American Institute of Baking (AIB) Coordinator and Committee in ensuring that the company meets or exceeds AIB standards especially in the areas of engineering and maintenance
• Ensures that the production staff and subcontractors abide by Honeymoon Paper Products, Inc., (HPPI) and AIB regulations and maintains and files appropriate documentation
• Reviews production, quality control and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify production activities
• Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees
• Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
• Manage and evaluate machine and labor resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime
• Oversee a workforce of 140+ employees in the manufacturing department
• Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures
• Promotes safety in the plant by participating in safety committees, training employees in safety practices and policy, enforcing safety policy, contributing suggestions that would add to the safety of the employees.

• Excellent project management skills
• Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
• Working knowledge of OSHA, AIB and EPA regulations
• Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
• Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors and the general public
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
• Proficiency in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Physical Requirements and Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
